Representative of the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings participated in the International Congress on Organ Transplantation

From 9 to 11 October, an international congress on “Ethical, Legal and Psychosocial Aspects of Organ Transplantation, Application of New Technologies – Evolving Humanities” was held in Seville, Kingdom of Spain, organized by the European Society for Organ Transplantation (ESOT).

A representative of the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan also participated in the congress.

During the event, the topics “The Complexity and Ethical Governance of Xenotransplantation” and “Organ Transplantation after Euthanasia – The Boundary between Death and Saving Life” were discussed. Experts provided comprehensive information on the legal, ethical, and medical aspects of xenotransplantation and presented the latest research conducted in this field.

The congress continued with sessions on “Public Trust in Organ Donation,” “Ethical, Social, and Legal Aspects of Organ Transplantation,” “Decision-Making in Liver Donation,” “Liver Sales in the 21st Century: Lessons from Criminal Cases,” “Application of New Technologies in Organ Transplantation and Their Ethical Aspects,” “Organ Sales and Global Mobility,” “Debates on the Legalization of Organ Sales in the Presence of Public Consent,” and “Ensuring Resilience after Organ Transplantation.”

The congress concluded with a closing session titled “The Human Factor and the Future of Organ Transplantation.”
