Training Held on “Prevention of Online Sexual Exploitation and Abuse of Children and Combating Such Offences”

On February 19–20, a training session for law enforcement officials was held at the Hilton Baku hotel, organized by the Council of Europe Office in Baku.

A representative of the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs participated in the training, which focused on the theme “Prevention of Online Sexual Exploitation and Abuse of Children and Combating Such Offences.”

The primary objective of the event was to present the principles and procedures of a child-oriented approach in accordance with the relevant standards of the Council of Europe, including the introduction of effective investigative methodologies. During the session, international and local experts provided comprehensive information on “Substantive and Procedural Criminal Law,” “Investigation and Criminal Prosecution – Investigations into child sexual exploitation and sexual violence identified through proactive methods,” “Protection of the child as a victim or witness during criminal proceedings,” and “Interagency cooperation and referral mechanisms.”

The event facilitated a professional exchange of experience, and inquiries regarding the subject matter were addressed in detail by the trainers.
