Representative of the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings Participated in a Conference Held within the Framework of Cooperation with the Council of Europe

On March 24–26, 2026, the 47th meeting of the Committee of the Parties was held in Strasbourg, France, within the framework of cooperation with the Council of Europe, focused on the theme “Prevention of Online Sexual Exploitation and Abuse of Children and Combating Such Offences.”

The event was attended by officials from the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Child Affairs Department of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs.

The conference involved comprehensive discussions on the questionnaires conducted during the second monitoring round and the obligations imposed on Member States regarding the sexual exploitation of children in the online environment. Participants and member states shared expertise during panel discussions and seminars on topics such as “Vetting of Persons Working with Children,” “Abuse of Positions of Trust,” “Protection of Children in the Digital Age,” and “Interagency Cooperation and Referral Mechanisms.”

In a subsequent panel, a brief overview of the meetings held by the Lanzarote Committee throughout the year was provided, along with a report prepared by the Secretariat of the Convention regarding the Committee's activities during the current year. At the conclusion of the session, the Committee’s activity plan for 2026 was discussed and approved.
