On September 20, 2019, a meeting with the delegation of the US Department of State and the US Embassy in the Republic of Azerbaijan was held at the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Chief of the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings, Major-General of Police Heydar Heydarov accepted delegation consisting of foreign affairs officer of the US Department of State's Office to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons Atsuki Takahashi as well as representatives of US Embassy in the Republic of Azerbaijan at the administrative building of the Main Department on 20.09.2019.

During meeting it was discussed the work carried out in 2018 and the past period of 2019 in the country in the fight against human trafficking and the prospects for future cooperation.

Detailed discussions were held regarding highlighted issues in relation to Azerbaijan which was took a place in the US State Department's annual report on trafficking in person, issued in June 20, 2019, the questions were answered and it was mentioned that relevant measures were taken to implement made recommendations for our country, and in general, international recommendations are always kept in focus.

The meeting was held in a warm and business atmosphere.

At the end of the visit, the US Embassy delegation thanked the organizers for the meeting, fruitful discussions and provided information.
