Mission of the International Organization for Migration to Azerbaijan is conducting an awareness campaign in cooperation with the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) to Azerbaijan in Azerbaijan jointly with Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan provides an awareness campaign in the framework of the project “Enhancing Cooperation Measures to Effectively Combat Trafficking in Persons Through Capacity Building and Technical Assistance in Azerbaijan-Phase VI”.


The awareness campaign is aimed for potential victims of human trafficking, as well as the general public of the country. While awareness-raising activities are currently underway, especially in Baku, the event is planned to cover other cities and regions through mass media.


Within the framework of joint anti-trafficking activities, the IOM Mission to Azerbaijan and the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan have prepared a number of materials to raise awareness in this area. It is planned to use propaganda videos in Azerbaijani language, 50,000 small booklets, 50,000 flyers, 750 posters, 2,000 pencils, 3,000 books and 100 T-shirts. At the same time, these materials will also be available in English, Russian and Arabic.


The campaign's main purpose is to raise awareness about human trafficking, to strengthen preventive measures, to prevent victims of human trafficking from becoming victims of these crimes, and to promote the information about the hotline # 152 service of the Main Department on Combating Trafficking in Human Beings at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.


It should be noted that a large posters showing sexual and labor exploitation forms of people, as well as relevant information on hotline # 152 service is being demonstrated at Baku subway stations in September-October, 2019.
